I got the camera bug many years ago but school, work, raising a family all took precedence over my pursuit of photography. Some years ago, however, my wife and I along with some very good friends took a cruise to Alaska, and for the first time I tried my hand at digital photography. Since then, my hobby has gotten really serious.
I much prefer shooting just about anything outdoors but seem to lean toward bird photography the most. It is quite challenging, to say the least, but I enjoy trying to get just the right shot with all the right parameters to create meaningful photos.
We lived in Cuenca, Ecuador, for almost four years, having only recently returned to the United States. Ecuador is incredibly diverse. Its Amazon River Basin, Andes Mountains, Pacific Coast and Galapagos Islands create four main areas each with its own unique people, culture, ecosystems, scenery and wildlife. Many of the photographs on this site are from our time in that beautiful South American country.
I hope my photography shows at least some of the inspiring, amazing and visually exciting scenes I have been privileged to witness over the years. Now, it is my privilege to share.
